Laser Hair Removal

SCROLL
Definition
Laser Hair Removal That
Selectively Targets Hair Follicles

Laser hair removal uses energy absorbed by melanin in the hair to impair follicles during the growth phase and gradually reduce hair growth.
Unlike shaving or waxing, which removes only hair above the skin's surface,
laser treatment selectively targets follicles and reduces the burden of repeated at-home hair removal.

The appropriate wavelength and energy settings vary according to hair thickness and color, skin tone, and treatment area. Because not all hairs are in the active growth phase at the same time, repeat sessions at regular intervals are required.

Trinity Dermatology Clinic assesses skin type, hair thickness and density, irritation, and the presence of folliculitis to create a hair-reduction plan suited to each treatment area.

Cases
Laser Settings Vary
with Hair and Skin Characteristics

We assess the treatment area, skin tone, and hair thickness and density
to plan an appropriate treatment range.

  • When repeated shaving or waxing causes skin irritation or folliculitis
  • When long-term reduction of coarse, dark hair is desired on areas such as the underarms, arms, or legs
  • When fine facial or upper-lip hair makes the skin appear darker or rougher
  • When easier hygienic care is desired for the bikini line or contoured areas
Cause Analysis
The Hair Growth Cycle
Shapes Laser Hair Removal Results

Because hairs grow in different cycles, they cannot all be treated effectively in a single session.

ANAGEN Anagen Phase

During this melanin-rich active growth phase, the hair remains connected to the follicle and laser energy is delivered most effectively to the follicle.

CATAGEN Catagen Phase

Hair growth stops and the connection to the follicle weakens, so laser response may be lower than during the anagen phase.

TELOGEN Telogen Phase

Existing hair sheds as the follicle prepares for the next growth phase, requiring repeat treatment when new hair enters anagen.

Diagnostic Plan
Effective Hair Reduction Requires
Assessment of Both Skin and Hair

Even in the same treatment area, hair thickness and density, skin color, and sensitivity vary from person to person.
Fine facial hair and coarse body hair require different energy ranges.
Increasing energy without considering skin condition may raise the risk of burns and hyperpigmentation, while insufficient energy may not produce an adequate follicular response.

Trinity Dermatology Clinic assesses skin tone, hair color and thickness, and the contours and sensitivity of the treatment area to carefully plan wavelength, treatment coverage, cooling, and session intervals.

Laser & Equipment
Tailored to Skin Tone and
Hair Characteristics
Clarity II Dual-Wavelength Hair Removal

The appropriate wavelength is selected according to skin tone,
hair thickness, and follicle depth.

CLARITY II Clarity II Dual-Wavelength Hair Removal

Clarity II is a dual-wavelength laser platform combining a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser.
The appropriate wavelength and treatment settings are selected according to skin tone, hair thickness and depth, and treatment area to precisely target follicles in the anagen phase.

The 755 nm wavelength may be considered for relatively lighter skin and fine to medium hair, while 1064 nm may be considered for darker skin tones or coarse, deep hair. Treatment coverage and skin response are monitored to support even delivery across broad and contoured areas while reducing missed spots.

Trinity System
Trinity's Laser Hair Removal System

We aim to minimize unnecessary skin irritation while precisely targeting follicles in the active growth phase.

Assessment of Skin Tone and Hair Thickness

We assess skin color, hair color, and density to set an appropriate wavelength and energy level.

Precise Laser Delivery by Treatment Area

Areas with different contours and sensitivity are divided and treated evenly to reduce missed spots.

Cooling and Growth-Cycle Planning

The skin is soothed after treatment, and the next session is scheduled according to the hair growth cycle.
